2015 Altın Havan Award Winners!

The Altın Havan award, one of the most prestigious awards in the drug and pharmaceutical sector, was presented to its owners for the 6th time. The work "Glossary of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacy Terms," prepared by the ''Turkish Language Institution Working Group on Pharmaceutical and Pharmacy Term'' was deemed worthy of the Altın Havan award in the field of ‘’Contribution to Pharmaceutical Terminology’’. Our provost and lecturer on Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aydın, is a member of the ''Turkish Language Institution Working Group on Pharmaceutical and Pharmacy Term'' which is headed by Prof. Dr. Erdem Yeşilada, lecturer of the Faculty of Pharmacy.


 

2015 TUBITAK Awards Announced!

Lecturer of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Hasan KIRMIZIBEKMEZ, was awarded the Incentive Award of 2015 in the field of Health Sciences by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) for his outstanding internationally qualified works associated with medicinal plants in the area of Pharmaceutical Sciences/Pharmacognosy.


 

Lecturer of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Hasan KIRMIZIBEKMEZ, was awarded the 2015 Incentive Award of METU Prof. Dr. Mustafa N. Parlar Education and Research Foundation!

METU Prof. Dr. Mustafa N. Parlar Education and Research and Foundation 2015 awards found their owners with the ceremony organized in METU Congress and Culture Center. Prof. Dr. Hasan Kırmızıbekmez, the lecturer of the Faculty of Pharmacy, was deemed worthy of an incentive award for his studies on Pharmaceutical Sciences/Pharmacognosy.


 

Award to Toxicology Department of Faculty of Pharmacy!

At 2nd International Drug And Pharmaceutical Congress (IVEK), The poster presentation “Energy Drink Intake Alone or Combined With Alcohol-Induced Lipid Peroxidation and Hepatotoxicity in Rat" prepared by Toxicology Department of Faculty of Pharmacy was awarded the second prize.


 

Faculty of Pharmacy students, Fatih Cengiz and Rızahan Sarıgöz, won the first prize of oral presentation in the 2nd Contest of Pharmacy Graduation Project Symposium (YEMPS)!

Faculty of Pharmacy students, Fatih Cengiz and Rızahan Sarıgöz, won the first prize of oral presentation in the 2nd Contest of Pharmacy Graduation Project Symposium (YEMPS) prepared by Anadolu University Faculty of Pharmacy on 22-24th April 2016. The lecturers of Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Erdem Yeşilada and Assist. Prof. Dr. Etil Güzelmeriç were the advisors of our students’ graduation project titled ‘’Chemical Composition of Various Propolis Samples, Comparison of Botanical Source and Antioxidant Effects’’.   


 

Our student, Gizem Ayan, won the first prize in the oral presentation category in ALFA National Pharmacy Congress.

Our student, Gizem Ayan, won the first prize in the oral presentation category in the ALFA National Pharmacy Congress held in Medipol University Faculty of Pharmacy on 5-8 May 2016. Supervisor of our student’s project titled "Usage of microneedles in the diagnosis of intoxications” was Assist. Prof. Dr. Gülengül Duman.


 

The basketball team of Yeditepe University Faculty of Pharmacy won the championship in the 14th May Pharmacy Day Tournament.

Our basketball team won the championship for the third time during the 14th May Pharmacy Day Basketball Tournament organized by Yeditepe University Faculty of Pharmacy and sponsored by İstanbul Chamber of Pharmacists.

Rankings of the tournament:

Our students Gamze Aydoğan and Gamze Çiçek are supported by TUBITAK 2209, for their graduation projects supervised by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aydın, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hande Sipahi and Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Hamitoğlu.

Project titles:

  1. Gamze Aydoğan: Investigation of various honey types marketed in Turkey for their cell protecting effect

       2. Gamze Çiçek: Investigation of Frankincense oil extracted from Anatolian Frankincense tree for its genotoxic and cytotoxic profile


 

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aydın was awarded the ‘Science Award’

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Aydın, Provost of our university and member of our Faculty, was awarded by the Turkish Pharmacists Association for the contributions he made in the development of pharmaceutical sciences with the “Science Award of 2016”.

Nur Çelik and Gülşah Zeybekoğlu, the senior students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, succeeded in receiving the support of "TÜBİTAK 2209 / A".

The senior students of the Faculty of Pharmacy Nur Çelik and Gülşah Zeybekoğlu were successful in receiving a scholarship within the scope of “TÜBİTAK 2209-A / Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students” for their graduation project, which was conducted by the Department of Toxicology. We congratulate our students and our advisors.


 

Prof. Dr. Erdem Yeşilada took place among the 100 leading Turkish Scientists

Yeditepe University Faculty of Pharmacy lecturer Prof. Dr. Erdem Yeşilada took part in the "100 leading Turkish Scientists," according to research published in Turkish Time Magazine's May issue.

Turkish Time's research was based on the number of citations received by scientists. In the introduction part, the author states, "The more groundbreaking studies the researcher conducts, the more citation he/she gets. As a result, the scientist receives a higher H-index.” According to the research, Yeditepe University Faculty of Pharmacy faculty member Prof. Dr. Erdem Yeşilada, who is working on pharmacognosy, ethnobotany, photochemistry, and aromatic plants in the field of "Plant Chemistry," took place among the "100 leading Turkish Scientists" with an H-Index of "56". Hürriyet


 

Winners of Farmafikir 2017 Awards

The award ceremony of the four final projects selected among 20 projects by pharmacy students from 29 different universities was held at İnan Kıraç Hall in Yeditepe University on November 25th, 2017.

Our 2nd-grade student, Hüsniye Birnur Güzeldağ, who represented our faculty, won the fourth degree.


 

Our student Gizem Ayan, who is also a minor in the Department of Genetics and Bioengineering, won the special jury award for the project "PharmApp Medicine Tracking Application."

To support our academicians, students, graduates and administrative staff who have created an innovation cycle within Yeditepe University to evaluate the opportunities, to provide the information necessary to implement their strategic choices and to develop solutions and to develop commercialization ideas, Technology Transfer Office organized the  “7 Tepe Yeni Fikir” contest which happened for the second time this year with an award ceremony in İnan Kıraç Hall on December 7th, 2017.


 

Prof.Dr. Erdem YEŞİLADA was deemed worthy of “Sabuncuoğlu Şerafeddin Traditional and Complementary Medical Science Award."

Under the auspices of the Turkish Presidency, Yeditepe University Faculty of Pharmacy lecturer Prof. Dr. Erdem Yesilada was deemed worthy of the “Sabuncuoğlu Şerafeddin Traditional and Complementary Medical Science Award” in the scope of "1st International Traditional and Complementary Medicine Congress" organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, World Health Organization (WHO) and University of Health Sciences.


 

Winners of ¨Farmafikir 2018¨ are from Yeditepe!

The final of ¨Farmafikir Geleceğin Eczacılığına İnovatif Projeler Yarışması 2018¨ (Farmafikir Innovative Projects for the Pharmacy of Future) that is organized by Pharmetic Girişimci Eczacılar Derneği (Pharmetic Entrepreneur Pharmacists Association) took place in Eskişehir Anadolu University 6. HYES Her Yönüyle Eczacılık Sempozyumu on April 29th, 2019. 31 projects out of 12 universities participated in Farmafikir 2018, which is one of the most extensive competitions that take place in Turkey in the field of pharmacy. In the competition, Yeditepe University 3rd grade students Elif Çisem ÇÖLDÜR and Zeynep Güneş TEPE have been awarded with the first prize for their project ¨PHARMAREA App¨


 

Faculty of Pharmacy feels proud with another first prize

On May 4-6th, 2018, ALFA Rx presentation competition took place at Medipol University as part of the Alfa National Pharmacy Congress. 11 projects out of 9 different faculty of pharmacies were qualified for the presentations in the competition with the central theme of ¨Perception and Awareness¨. After jury presentations on the 4th of May, the finalists have been decided.

Yeditepe University Faculty of Pharmacy students Elif Çisem ÇÖLDÜR and Zeynep Güneş TEPE have been awarded the first prize with their Project ¨Development of the formulation of only progestogen containing vaginal tampon with a 3D printer. Visitors have shown great interest in the project that is supervised by the head of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Assist. Prof. Dr. Gülengül Duman.


 

2nd Place in the May 14th Pharmacy Day Tournament is Yeditepe’s!

Once again there was a high competition in the Traditional May 14th Basketball Tournament among Faculties of Pharmacy in İstanbul that took place for the 10th time with the cooperation of İstanbul Eczacı Odası and our university on April 24th, 2018. Basketball teams of İstanbul Eczacı Odası, Marmara University, Medipol University and Yeditepe University participated in the tournament.

The winner of the tournament that is organized to increase communication between faculties as part of celebrations of Pharmacists day was İstanbul Eczacı Odası. Meanwhile, Yeditepe University Faculty of Pharmacy was given the second prize and Medipol University Faculty of Pharmacy was given the third prize.


 

Two Awards to Yeditepe from İstanbul Eczacı Odası

The award ceremony for the ¨New fields of employment in pharmacy subjected project competition¨ organized by İstanbul Chamber of Pharmacists to create new perspectives for the employment problem in the pharmacy sector and to develop new fields of employment took place as part of Pharmaceutical Meeting 2018. 62 Projects have participated in the competition from faculties of pharmacy in İstanbul. The competition consisted of ¨preselection¨and ¨project writing¨ sections and our faculty of pharmacy senior students Gizem Ayan and Emre Karaçayır have been given the second prize for their project ¨Family health center pharmacist¨. Visitors have shown great interest in the project consulted by Assist. Prof. Dr. Enise Ece Gürdal.


 

 

In the same competition, our faculty of pharmacy 2nd-grade student Hüsniye Birnur Güzeldağ has been awarded honorable mention for getting into first five places with her project titled as ¨Standardization in the gathering of herbal raw matherial¨ supervised by Assist. Prof. Dr. Engin Celep. We would like to congratulate our students and wish for the continuation of their successes.
