Assoc. Prof. Engin Celep Talked About Bee Bread
Member of our faculty’s Department of Pharmacognosy, Assoc. Prof. Engin Celep, gave an interview to Habertürk Newspaper on March 31, 2021 about "The support of bee bread to the immune and digestive system".
In his interview, Assoc. Prof. Engin Celep stated that bee bread is a natural product formed by fermenting the pollen stored in the honeycomb cells by bee enzymes. Continuing his speech, he mentioned that bee bread contains lipids, antioxidants, amino acids, enzymes, A, D, E, K, C and B group vitamins and magnesium, iron, selenium, zinc, potassium, calcium minerals, as well as about 35 percent of natural protein. He also mentioned about the antibacterial properties of bee bread. It can reduce the use of antibiotics in current treatments and can be an effective natural support.
