In QC Lab, I experienced testing the quality of excipients, finished products, intermediates at appropriate intervals by means of various procedures such as analytical (volumetry, potentiometry), physical (viscosity, humidity), instrumental (colorimetry, spectrophotometry, fluometry, infrared spectroscopy, GC, HPLC, colon chromatography, TLC, polarography, atomic absorption spectroscopy, particle size determination), biological (sterility, pyrogenicity and toxicity) and microbiological.
In production department, I took part in granulation, tablet compression, film coating processes.
Apart from analytical tests, here, I learned sampling, documentation, validation, recording and reporting. I took part in checking the suitability of every packaging material according to pharmacopoeia and specifications, inprocess checks at every stage of production (Line Inspection, Auditing, Sampling).I had the chance to apply my theoretical knowledge about GLP, ISO 13485, ISO 9001, GMP in practice.
Here, I learned the procedures that I needed to open a pharmacy. I followed some pharmaceutical editions that helped me to improve myself professionally. I enhanced my experience on using pharmacy computer programs like Rx Media, Farmakom Online and Medula Provision System. I experienced to load the electronical prescription, controlling the indications of the medicines and appliciation of effective patient communication.
I learned how to supply the medicines for the hospital and warehousing them in appropriate conditions, stock control, expiry date control, keeping records. I gained knowledge about the importance of give the right medication to the patient regarding the diagnosis, keeping in touch with the doctor and other healthcare professionals.
I had the opportunity to see the preparation of contract between the pharmacy and Social Security, private security and other private companies. I observed the importance of the communicaiton between the patient and the healthcare professional inplace. I took part in preparation of magistral formulations in the pharmacy. I experienced to load the electronical prescription, give the right medication to the patient and explain correct usage of drugs.
I learned to use the Medula Provision System which is the main system used in the pharmacy to load the electronical prescriptions. I had the opportunity to experience my theoretical knowledge about giving the right medicine to the patient, getting the maximum therapeutic benefit from the drug and increasing the patient compliance. I took part in preparation of magistral formulations in the pharmacy. I learned how to organize the pharmacy. I gained knowledge about the usage of food supplements, cosmetic products and the medications that are sold in the pharmacy.
I learned the types of prescriptions and their usage areas, indications and contraindications of several medicines, how to read prescriptions, abbreviations that are used in prescriptions and warning the patient about the precautions.
